About Athens
Athens gets treated as a stopover before the islands, which undersells it — the Acropolis and the Ancient Agora sit inside a city with a genuinely good, underrated food scene, especially around Psiri and Koukaki. Piraeus port is the ferry gateway most people rush through; slowing down in Athens itself for a day or two changes the trip.
