In their own words: “This city is full of churches, so this is another one Igreja de São Francisco. Well known for its intricate Baroque interior. The church walls and ceilings are decorated with gilded woodwork, making it one of the most opulent churches in Portugal. Some of Porto's most important and wealthy families are buried in the church. They call it also the golden church because 200 kilos of golden leaf has been used to decorate the wooden carvings.”
