Bún Chả Hương Liên
★ 4.1restaurant
“Our first stop is Bún Chả Hương Liên with their famous Bún Chả, a dish of grilled pork, vermicelli noodles, herbs, and a nice sweet fish sauce broth probably my favourite food in all of Vietnam... this is actually the place that Barrack Obama and Anthony Bourdain famously filmed an episode of Parts Unknown but I promise I'm not falling for the viral hype and it is actually really good and despite its fame it was almost entirely local Vietnamese eating here, and it was packed.”
Bún chả que tre
★ 4.5restaurant
“Bún chả que tre, located on a streetside in the North of the Old Town is somewhere we just happened to walk by But their Bún chả is delicious and literally a true authentic street food experience At 50k Dong for a bún chả and spring rolls it's a bit cheaper than Bún Chả Hương Liên and just as tasty, though you do sacrifice some of the comfort of a brick and mortar restaurant still though, the pork was perfectly smokey and juicy.”
Phở Thế Béo
★ 4.5restaurant
“We decided on this place called Phở Thế Béo and it turned out to be great and quick tip for travelling in Vietnam, if a place opens super early like this one at 5am then it's probably pretty authentic, since no tourists will be waking up that early and we opted for their cheapest option, the phở bò tái at 30k Dong... Also, if you didn't notice the server is zooming about on a hoverboard, so I think it's worth coming here just to witness that...”
Phở Gia Truyền Bát Đàn
★ 4.3restaurant
“Now the absolute best phở I've had in Hanoi was at this place called Phở Gia Truyền Bát Đàn it looks basic but their broth is incredible so definitely check it out if you get the chance.”
Chả cá Hà Thành
★ 4.5restaurant
“Now for the fifth and final dish, we have Chả cá, a dish so famous in Hanoi that there's even a street named after it. It's a dish of grilled fish with dill and turmeric, served with vermicelli noodles and peanuts.”
