In their own words: “We went back to the old town to eat at the best Koba of the split. Konoba is familyrun authentic restaurant. We were lucky to find a table at Kotfinga Verup. I'm sure I said all wrong. It roughly translates to at the sphinx the non-European beast. It gets its name from its location near the ancient Egyptian sphinx in front of the temple of Jupiter. We enjoyed everything we had from the house wine to the main dish. I ordered one of their signature dishes, ravioli with prawns, mussels, and saffron. Its taste is out of this world.”

Locate the ancient Egyptian sphinx in the Peristyle, a unique artifact brought to Split by Emperor Diocletian.
In their own words: “Diocletian also brought in 12 sphinxes to Split after Diocletian put down a rebellion in Egypt somewhere around 297 AD. Unfortunately only one survived and is now standing in the Peristyle”
