Huangpu River Night Cruise

Huangpu River Night Cruise

★ 4.5

experience

“Tonight’s plan: a night cruise on the Huangpu River. The best time for a night cruise is after 7 pm, when the city lights are switched on. Pudong skyscrapers shimmer with neon and giant screens. On the other side, the Bund is often called a ‘museum of international architecture. It looks breathtaking in the golden light. So the night cruise is worth trying. The night view was breathtaking, and the 45 minutes flew by.”

Wu Changshuo Memorial Hall

Wu Changshuo Memorial Hall

experience

“Admission here is free. Wu Changshuo was a master painter, calligrapher, and seal carver of the late Qing dynasty. This residence was built over a century ago, between 1914 and 1917. It blends Western and Chinese architectural elements. The floor tiles were so charming. This historic residence rests quietly beneath the towering skyscrapers of Lujiazui. The contrast makes it especially moving. It became one of my favorite spots of the trip. Look at the finely carved wooden door frames. You can’t help but stop and admire them. Take a closer look, you’ll find birds hidden in the patterns. Simply beautiful! The atmosphere here is calm, with only a few visitors around. Though it’s in a busy district, it truly feels like a hidden gem.”

“We’ve just arrived at the hotel where we’ll be staying in Shanghai. We get to enjoy a buffet breakfast here every morning. Let’s take a look at the room. Spacious, quiet, and clean, everything we could ask for. Right in the heart of Xujiahui, a neighborhood full of shops, parks, and history. There’s a lounge on the top floor. From here, you get a stunning night view. With great service and free snacks.”

“We came to try a highly rated café near our hotel. Metal Hand was ranked the 38th best coffee shop in the world. The interior was so unique. It felt like stepping inside a space pod. Their pistachio dirty is the signature drink here. Wow, so delicious. It was our first time trying Dirty Coffee, and it’s now on our favorites list. You really have to try the Pistachio Dirty Coffee here!”

“Our first stop was the greenhouse. It’s divided into three themed zones, each with a different climate. We began with an exhibition on the history of plants. It’s a popular spot, so it can get quite crowded. I’ve never seen Baobab trees before, so amazing! This zone is “Sand Mirage,” a desert world of rare and drought-resistant plants.”

“We came here to see a very special tree. When this station was built, locals asked for this beloved tree to be preserved. It looks as if it’s growing right through the platform itself. The tree was spared from being cut down and became the station’s guardian spirit. This place has a truly unique, mysterious vibe.”
