Honke Otako Dotonbori

In their own words: “I arrived at “Honke Otako Dotonbori Branch” in Dotonbori. This is the only appearance of the shop, but it seems to be the oldest takoyaki shop in Dotonbori. I've always been interested in this place because of its stall-like appearance. After all, this kind of shop is fun. It looks hot and delicious. Plenty of bonito flakes are also dancing♪ When you lift it, a lot of steam will come out. The fabric is quite solid and there is a response to eating. The spicy sauce is also delicious. The octopus inside is big and fluffy♪ Even if it is wrapped in fabric, it has a strong presence. After all, I want to eat takoyaki like this. Very satisfied!”

While known for takoyaki, try their okonomiyaki, an Osaka specialty packed with juicy pork, octopus, and cabbage.

In their own words: “Next, we would like to introduce this store, Honke Ootako. The shop was founded in 1972 and is the oldest takoyaki shop in Dotonbori. Takoyaki is also popular but we will have another menu item this time. Okonomiyaki is an Osaka specialty that is as popular as takoyaki. It has a nice smell of dried bonito flakes and seaweed. There's pork, cabbage, and octopus inside. The pork is juicy and the octopus and cabbage have a nice texture! The sauce and mayonnaise give it a rich taste. Love to have a beer!”
