Osaka Castle
★ 4.4experience
“First up is Osaka Castle. To get to Osaka Castle from Shin-Osaka Station, go to Osaka Station and transfer to the Osaka Loop Line, then get off at Osaka-jo Koen Station. It takes about 20 minutes. Besides Osaka-jo Koen Station, there are several other nearby stations like Morinomiya Station, so it's better to check Google Maps before you go. Alright, let's head to Osaka Castle. The area around Osaka Castle is a park, and there is lush greenery. It's about twice the size of Universal Studios Japan. It's very spacious, so we recommend taking a ride on the train-shaped shuttle for getting around. The fare is 400 yen. Just after getting off the train-shaped shuttle, you'll find a bridge leading towards Osaka Castle. There is a moat surrounding the castle, where you can take a boat ride. The fare is 1,500 yen, and you can board without a reservation. Now, let's enter Osaka Castle. You'll need to purchase a ticket to enter. The admission fee is 600 yen. There is a line at the ticket counter, and you may have to wait for over 40 minutes to purchase tickets. If you don't want to wait in line, it's recommended to purchase tickets from the official website. You can purchase online tickets even right before entering, and it takes about 5 minutes. There are stairs and elevators, and the elevators are available only for going up. But the elevator only goes up to the 5th floor, so you'll have to take the stairs from there to the top floor on the 8th. Osaka Castle is the tallest castle in Japan, so the view is really great. You can enjoy a panoramic view of Osaka. One of the recommended spots inside the castle is the 2nd floor. You can wear a kabuto and hold a katana like a samurai. The fee is 500 yen, and if you add a photo shoot, it's 1,500 yen. Osaka Castle is spacious and offers many attractions, so including travel time from the station, sightseeing will take about 3 hours.”
Umeda Sky Building and Museum
★ 4.4experience
“Next is the Umeda Sky Building. The nearest station is Osaka Station, about 10 minutes from Shin-Osaka. The closest exit is Sakurabashi Exit. It's about a 10-minute walk from the station. The entrance to the observation deck is on the 3rd floor. It's open from 9:30 AM to 10:30 PM every day. Take the elevator to the 35th floor, then use the escalator to reach the observation deck. The escalator, which is glass-walled on both sides, is thrilling! You can purchase tickets here. The admission fee is 1,500 yen for adults. You can enjoy views of the city of Osaka while indoors here. It’s about 3 times the height of Osaka Castle. At the top of the stairs is the Sky Walk. It's a circular observation deck located on the rooftop, where you can enjoy unobstructed views of the scenery. It feels really nice because you can enjoy the scenery while feeling the refreshing breeze. If you want to enjoy the scenery, an hour should be enough to have a good time.”

“Abeno Harukas is located about a 10-minute walk from Tennoji Zoo. It's a complex commercial facility that opened in 2014 and is directly connected to Tennoji Station. It's currently the 2nd tallest building in Japan. The must-visit spot here is the observation deck. First, take the elevator to the 16th floor. On this floor, there is a garden you can enter for free. This garden is located at a height of about 80 meters, which is higher than Osaka Castle. Now, let's head to the observation deck. The admission fee is 2,000 yen for adults. You can buy tickets online in advance, but the ticket counter doesn't usually have long lines, so it's also okay to buy them on the day of your visit. You'll arrive from the 16th to the 60th floor in about 45 seconds by elevator. This is the Harukas 300 Observatory. It's located at a height of 300 meters above ground, which is about 5 times the height of Osaka Castle and about twice the height of the Umeda Sky Building. You can enjoy special views that can't be seen elsewhere. The 60th floor is indoors, but the 58th floor is open-air. You can feel the breeze while spending time here, so it's relaxing. We ordered the most popular takoyaki at this shop. It is a classic takoyaki topped with sauce, mayonnaise, dried bonito flakes and seaweed. It has a nice smell of dried bonito flakes. They add soy sauce and Japanese soup stock to the dough of takoyaki. The outside has a nice crispy texture. The inside of the dough is very moist. The store uses a high class octopus called Madako.”

★ 3.8restaurant
“It is a popular takoyaki store with a wide variety of menu besides takoyaki. Lots of people line up every day during lunch time. This store has a wide variety of takoyaki and we can enjoy many different flavors. This time we chose the most popular takoyaki. It is a gorgeous takoyaki topped with a soft-boiled egg and green onions. There is also a sauce flavor but this time we chose the especially popular dashi shoyu flavor. The crispy texture of the dough and the green onions has a nice texture. The mayonnaise is creamy and generously spread on the takoyaki. The inside is soft and melts in your mouth! The octopus is also cut into large pieces so it is very satisfying. It becomes creamier when it is mixed with soft-boiled eggs.”

★ 4.1restaurant
“Next we will introduce this shop, Kin no Torikara. This is a shop specializing in karaage, operated by a chicken production company established in 1951. This restaurant has 10 kinds of sauces and spices, so we can customize the taste ourselves. First, let's eat it as it is. The karaage at this store is small, so it's perfect for eating while walking around. The reasonable price is also a nice point! The chicken meat is soft and juicy! The karaage is crispy and can be eaten like a snack. From the ten different seasonings, let's start with the garlic butter. The butter taste makes it taste richer. The garlic taste is so addictive! Next, let's try this spice. The black pepper gives it a more spicy taste. The last one to try is the chocolate sauce. Karaage is like a snack so it's not bad. Actually, it's not delicious but if you're interested, give it a try.”

The red beans inside have a nice texture. It's a tart with a Japanese touch. Next we have a chocolate flavored tart. It is topped with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and cacao powder. There's chocolate cream under the whipped cream. It has a slight bitterness but also has a sweetness to it. We recommend this tart for chocolate lovers.”
