L'Antica Birreria Peroni
★ 4.4restaurant
“We got seated in "L'Antica Birreria Peroni" and this place is quite busy during the lunchtime. It's quite hectic, full plates of pasta going from the kitchen to the tables. Many people coming in, going out, coming here for lunch. And this is a local place, there are tourists as well, but this is not like those genuine tourist traps that you really have all around this "birreria" and this is why I like this place. You can come here, you can eat good pasta and pay a normal price. Pasta here starts from €8. My cannelloni are pure Italian poetry, so soft almost melting in your mouth, but this ragù inside is so fine, very nice meat, very mild taste of tomato sauce and then this pecorino on top just completes everything. Rome is famous for its cannelloni and this place makes them right. They're so soothing, so easy to eat, so pleasant. And to be honest this is such a huge portion of cannelloni, such a big plate especially for the price of €9.”
Gelateria Fassi
★ 4.6cafe
“No Roman or Italian food tour would be complete without some gelato! Our final stop is Gelateria Fassi, dating all the way back to 1880. This is one of the oldest ice cream shops in Rome, offering a wonderful old-school ambiance and a great variety of delicious, creamy Italian gelato.”
Il Grottino a Testaccio
★ 4.5restaurant
“It's time to try some authentic Roman pizza and behind me is "Il Grottino a Testaccio" or the small cave in Testaccio, and here we're going to enjoy some proper Roman pizza. Once in Rome a must try is the authentic thin crust Roman pizza, and there are several places that make this pizza for decades, and one of them is "Il Grottino" the small cave in neighborhood of Testaccio. Even though many places around Rome offer traditional thin crust pizza actually there aren't that many of them left that do it properly, the right, way but Il Grottino is one of those places that still makes the proper authentic Roman pizza. Before my pizza is here I also ordered an appetizer and this is "Carciofo alla Giudia". This is a staple of Rome, a deep fried artichoke. My "Margherita Bufala" is here and this is a Roman style pizza and it looks and smells incredible. This is the recognizable Roman thin crust pizza, and it's really light, the "cornicione", the crust quite crunchy. Paper thin and very crunchy perfection.”
Trattoria Guerra
★ 4.1restaurant
“Behind me is a legendary place called "Trattoria Guerra" this is a family-owned business and this restaurant is quite special as during the lunchtime you come here and you get seated and you eat what they have made this day. Usually it's some pasta dish accompanied with a glass of wine and a cup of coffee. The price for this meal is around €5. Everything in this Trattoria is kept originally as possible even the floors are from 1940s and this place is quite interesting they also have a "social table". We also got some white wine, there's water and in the end we'll also get a chance to get a coffee and the whole meal is €5 only. An important thing to note is that this place owns pasta factory. So all the pasta here is produced by the same people that serve the food here. "Spaghetti all'arrabbiata" are here. Spaghetti are cooked "al dente" of course the sauce is quite nice, thick and the spiciness goes through all this pasta, It's not too spicy but just pleasantly spicy. The angry pasta a dish that never disappoints.”

“Ai Marmi is a 93 year old Pizzeria and it's one of the busiest pizzerias in Rome and maybe even in Italy. They also do the traditional Roman Pizza. Perfectly baked Roman style thin crust pizza.”
Pizzeria Remo A Testaccio
★ 4.4restaurant
“Behind me is Remo A Testaccio and this is one of the several iconic pizzerias in Rome.
